In a recent survey a number of billionaires were asked to name one person without whose support they wouldn’t have made it and a majority of them took the name of their fathers. It stands true for most of us and while we tend to forget to tell our fathers how much we love and appreciate them in the bustle of everyday life, Fathers Day gives us a chance to make up for this slip up.
The day should start with breakfast in bed with a flower and poem or letter of appreciation added to the tray. Kids can help mom with breakfast and everybody can just sit around and talk and laugh during the meal.
Buying gifts is not enough, father should have a full day of relaxation, fun, being loved and served. Take over his chores and pack him off to do whatever he wants for that day whether a game of baseball of golfing.
Plan a weekend of camping and outing where dad and kids get to spend a lot of time just having fun. Whether its fishing or a game of basketball, or hiking in the mountains, it’s important that weekend should be memorable.
Make sure that Father’s Day is made special for a needy local family. By sharing joys, we double them. Arrange to give the family some money, clothes, food, toys and books etc.
It’s not the alleviated love and attention on one special day but same respect and love throughout the year that matters.
