Buying a Cat 5e

The Cat 5e cable is an enhancement of the original category five cable types. The cat 5e cable is defined as the TIA/EIA 568 B standard. The standard specified for cat 5e does not match the specifications for cat 5 cables. The cat 5e cables got their formal definition in the year 2001 and they are considered to ideal for the distance of about 90 meters.
The cat 5e cables can also be called the enhanced version of cat 5 cables as they also contain the specifications for far end crosstalk.  The 1000BASE-T was originally designed to be used with the cat 5 cables but the tighter specifications of cat 5e cable along with its connectors are ideal for the 1000BASE-T. The cat 5e cables are capable of carrying about 100Mbits of data every second. The use of cat 5eables has increased due t their tighter specifications.
In cases of networks using the cat cables, it is a good idea to use cat 5e cables if you are planning to run the network at the speed of 1000Mbps. The cat 5e cables are considered to give good results if they are used as the 350 MHz network cables. These cables run up to about 1 Gig and also that these cables are less expensive as compared to the cat 6 cables.
However, during the present times, the cat 5e cable is hardly used anywhere. The Cat 5e cable can be used as an excellent patch cable.
